RE: ATM Lanthanum Eyepieces

I'm no expert by any means, but I use them in my 6" home-built Dob (there,
now we're on topic!) and I'm happy with them. I have the 5, 10. and 20mm
made by Vixen, which I believe are the same ones Orion sells
private-labeled. I bought them for the eye relief as much as for the
materials (I use glasses most of the time). I got all three at different
times off Astromart second-hand, for $70 to $85. I've seen Orion's there,
too. I'd shop there first.

Subject: ATM Lanthanum Eyepieces

Has anyone tried Orion's Lanthanum eyepieces (the ~$100 range, 1.25 in.
barrel variety)? Are they worth it? Does the lanthanum lens really make a
difference?

Since this is off-topic, please respond off-list.

TIA,
