Whilst I am generally considered to be a better-than-average speller,
where mirror-making is concerned I may be considered to be suffering
from delusions of adequacy. Or, if I may put it another way (as I have
before), would you rather be guided through a Foucault test by someone
who can spell it correctly, by someone who can pronounce it correctly,
or by someone who can do it and interpret it correctly?

As for getting help, I have found that asking with a touch of respect
generally gets good results here (and elsewhere). Like many other people
(remarkably few in here), when I have waded in and spoken with great
authority upon subjects about which I know insufficient to be aware of
my level of ignorance, the responses, whilst useful, have generally not
been as kind.
