Hi Geoff,
Your letter was quite offensive. I'm genuinely sorry it's not going well
during figuring. This list does have great mirror making help - help
that can not be found anyplace else to my knowledge, and it is a fine,
helping and collaborative group - but many like me are not experienced
enough to offer precise help.
With the little I do know - I do know you can definitely get back to a
sphere - even if it means fine grinding again.
I think the most offensive part of your letter involved the comment on
spelling. Perhaps unknown to you, some folks have a
learning/memory/recall difference that simply goes against bothering to
learn arbitrary rules - or to spell correctly at the same level as
normal, externally motivated and feedback concerned - spelling folks.
We are not necessarily idiots because we can not, or do not bother... to
spell at your socially normed level and standard of concern - many
creative spellers have actually accomplished a few things somewhat above
the idiot level. The General Theory of Relativity being one example.
Einstein had much more challenging and interesting things to think about
than bothering to learn, to recall, and then to carefully present the
correct sequence of letters within a system of arbitrary, and therefore
obviously ridiculous written language. Why would he care if he knows he
can communicate, unless to impress others who are concerned with
appearances above the ideas the communication medium is supposed to
represent. Geoff.
Please feel free to either a) concern your conciousness with these
ideas, or b) concern your mind with this meesages sytanctical, and
letter sequence errors. One choice may take your mind places the other
choice can not.
Good luck to you, I honestly wish you well on your mirror - I forgive
your naiveté regarding individuals brightness levels as a false function
of their use of letter sequences, and I know you can and will succeed
given patience, time, and the necessary failures - to arrive at
understanding and success on you telescopes mirror.
Hang in there!
