                        Hi John,
 
                It looks like you have the "hang" of polishing techniques &
            you're on the way to make a good one.
 
                It looks like your lap is in good shape [the partial pitch
            squares are no problem as long as they don't crumble off &
            cause "sleeks"] SO, my 2 cents worth, Just brush your lap
            {with a brass wire brush]  recharge & press.
 
                To create a good sphere [and polish clear to the edge] work
            part of the time TOT. If you alternate MOT with TOT at 1/3 dia.
            strokes most of the stroking errors will cancel out & you will
            arrive at a good sphere. Contrary to what looks like common
            sense, polishing TOT will not create TDE [it can actualy cure it]
