Thanks for all your efforts Sam, no sweat at all - I guess my new
standard operating procedure with all used computing equipment is to
"trust but verify"! 

And from what the list folks have been saying a simple hard disk
reformat with the format c: 'u' switch included - should permanently
clear the pesky little microbe from memory.    : )
