ATM 16" blank thickness

Dear list,

after considering porthole glas and BVC I now intend to spend a lot of money to get a 
DURAN blank. I am offered two blanks one with 58 and another one with 68 mm thickness for 
exactly the same price. Perhaps these are the last ones of this type avaiable here in 
Europe. Would the 68 mm peace be more easy to grind (avoiding "thin blank behavior") or 
should I aim for the somewhat less heavy blank (which would make my future sope somewhat 
lighter) ?
