Example:
    A few weeks back, I was building a new partition wall in my house.  I had to
cut a board to 110 and 7/8" long.  I marked it, and cut it, and put it in place.
It was way too short!  It was 110 and 7/16"!  Oops, I mismarked it.  I took the
board down, and took it out the shop to cut it again, this time to the right
length!

    About halfway there, I realized that if a board is too short, no matter how
many more times you cut it, it will *still* be too short!  The next day, still
laughing about how stupid I had been, while up on the ladder, I leaned on a
drill with both hands.  Fell off, hit a chair, and cracked two ribs.
We all do dumb stuff, and I guess that day, it was my turn!
