Question about the teleconverters???

I am progressing with my 8" f4.25 newt and hope to be shooting
with it in spring of '99 when my AP mount arrives. I have pondered the
possibilities of a teleconverter to give me 2 focal length options.
Lumicon has a 1.8X teleconverter designed for fast systems. This would give

me a 2nd focal ratio of 1550mm at f7.7.....very useful focal length......
at
a managable f ratio. Can someone tell me about the quality
of the Lumicon TC?
What other TC options might I consider with a
fast newt?
Spaceboy, I saw your reference to Mr. Katahari's *quality* teleconvertors.
I thought these (TC 301) were made for Nikon lenses. Can they be
incorporated into
the optical train of a Newtonian telescope and camera? It appears that Mr.
Katahari did so.
Thanks for the tips
