<< Greetings all, I need to ask a very elementary question and quite frankly
need
help in making a decision. I recently purchased a Nikon F with a 135 mm
Nikon
lens for possible use in beginning astrophotography. My question is
basically this...is this a good beginning camera for my budding interests in
astrophotography or would I perhaps do better in selling this camera(it is in
superb condition) and purchasing something else with the proceeds. The lens
is also very clean. Any suggestions regarding other finders I might consider
for the Nikon F or lenses would be much appreciated. Thank you all for your
time.

I have 2 camera bodes that I use for astrophotography, the Nikon F and an
Olympus OM1. The F doesn't get used much because the OM1 is MUCH lighter and
easier to use on the back of my 8 in. SCT. BUT the F has a removable prism
so it was real easy to attach a 15 X loupe for fine focus.
I have kept the body for this reason and because it came with a 55 mm f/1.2
lens, it gives great stars to the edge when it is stopped down to f/1.4 and
good images wide open.
