RE: [APML]: sky conditions

------------------------------------
I haven't noticed any more glow in the skies here in Ireland. Back a month
or 2 the dust lanes were easily visible as soon as you'd come out from a
bright room. It really looked as good, if not better this year then last
year.
On one night I could see stars well past mag 6 and views were amazing in my
telescope as I saw some dark patches in M31 with my 4.5-inch at X20. Views
of it were spoiled in my 8.75-inch cause of the high (X50) magnification
which is the lowest I can get with a 25mm eyepiece. On that same night I
could easily see a shadow of a moon as X50 too - something I never saw
before. Jupiter appeared VERY clear @ 140X and saw the Cassini Division
easily at this.
Deep Sky objects leaped out through my eyepiece. So, no brightening of skies
here that I know of anyway.
P.S. Has anyone noticed a dark belt in Saturn's southern hemisphere? I can
easily see it a 140X and see it every clear night.
Clear Skies,
