RE: [APML]: Pentax 800/4 lens.. good astro lens?

G'day Jim

Try Michael Horn. He has one he uses on a Pentax 67. Thats what he took his photo of
Comet Soho with the horsehead nebula with. I understand that he had some colour problems
but the optical guy (Michael someone?) from Brisbane pulled it apart and corrected one
element and its great now. There was also some coma at full aperture as far as I know. I
also think it was f4.5 from memory.

Good Luck

My Tak flourite arrived yesterday. What an instrument! Roll on this weekend so I can see
how good it is.

Hi,,

I have the chance of getting a mint Pentax 800mm F4 lens for the 67 camera
and was wondering whether anyone on the list has usd this lens and what they
think of it. Does it give a total flat field over the entire frame and does
it suffer from any aberrations at max. aperture?

Thanks guys,,
Jim
