[APML]: First attempt at Jupiter..
The Astro-Photography Mailing List
------------------------------------
Here is one of 10 or so shots (my fist attempt at a planet) on the 21st of
August.. taken in my light polluted backyard in the center of Denver. I
have a couple of questions..
please refer to:
http://www.dim.com/~shaitan/
How do you calculate F for the system when using a "variable" telextender?
Would I yield better results with higher power than 10mm?
I don't really know how to tell how much of the blur here is 1, The fact
that it's only a C8, 2, poor seeing (it looked great in the eyepiece, but
through the camera went in and out of focus, I made the shot(s) using
mirror lockup on my OM1n) 3, vibrations, 4, focus, or all of the above..
What really interests me is particularly the area of a C8 not really being
enough mirror for good planetary work, or can a higher power EP give me
better results??
I have provided the unmanipulated version although much reduced in size on
the web page..
Really, any tips/suggestions would be helpful..
thanks...
