question is why aren't there many people using it, as it costs less than
all of the required equipment to guide, frame, and focus as separate items?

I received my Taurus Tracker and used it for the first time this weekend at a
dark site above Glenwood Spgs., Colorado. I only took 2 pictures with it (the
crab nebula I think) but I was very impressed. The focus was great both times
(I refocused for both pics) and the guide stars I saw through the guide port
were better than the seagulls I saw in my Orion guider. I took 2 pictures of
the Orion Nebula the next morning but I forgot that I had set the speed from B
to 125 when I was thinking about taking a few pictures of the moon. I am sure
they would have been well focused pictures to.
My opinion is go for the Taurus Tracker, I love mine.
