Peter:
I have a Pentax 67, and a friend built a piggyback platform that is
placed on top of my Ultima 8" SCT tube. The set-up is great if I use
the normal lens or a slight telephoto (90mm, 105mm, 150mm). I also have
a 300mm which might present flexure problems. Aside from the regular
screw thread, there is a second hole at the bottom of the camera body
which has no thread, and my friend had a small projection built into
the platform that fit into this hole, and which gave me more stability.
He also built counter-weights which clip on the fork arm at the other
side of the tube.
The bottom line is that you need a heavy duty mount to support the
weight, so he also constructed a metal plate which fit below the wedge.
Which Pentax lenses do you use, and what have been your results?
