Photos and Images are the effects primarily of seeing unlesss the optics
are really bad ... The limit where optics will dominate seeing is
still a big unknown ... ( I'm looking into this a bit but it may
be a year+ project ) ...

The star test ( Dick SUiter's new book ) is the best way to tell
what your optics are like and you can do a semi-good star test at
a star party of LOTS of scopes ...  

If you are looking at photos, you are also looking at seeing, guiding, focus
and many other variables ....  it takes more than just good optics to
get a great photo or great image ....
