You should get a drawing of the sope's insides ... you want this
locking screw to hit the large , thick, flat area of the mirror
and not where it is nice and thin ....

and .. do NOT attempt to focus with this locking screw in place ...

If you are looking for the 'spring' that we mentioned in AMOACP
we found a suitable spring ... ( large enough ID to go outside
of the OD of the baffle tube ... and nice and loose spring/coil
( just a bit more springy than a slinky <G> ) .. not too stiff )
in a hardware store ..  bought 3 or 4 and found one that worked
quite well ....
