You are way ahead of me. My experience hasn't included much hardcopy.
The jargon in that area is enough to drive you nuts. I have the
impression that a film recorder does write RGB as one pixel as opposed
to an image setter that uses multiple planes and registration. But then
my knowledge of image setters is restricted to cartography where the
usual end user maps have something like 8 colors. I have never played
with a film recorder other than "recordaks" which convert paper to
microfim, as opposed to digital files to hardcopy.

I'll be most interested to hear of any enlitenment you get from others.

Who knows, maybe some day I will have the money to buy and the time to
use a 4x5. Right now it is out of the question. I envy the flexibilty
of large format cameras. In fact, I envy just about everyones equipment
that I've heard of in this group!

Sorry I couldn't help. Next time pick a question with a simple answer
:-)

Regards,
John
