Of course, and that's why we post our images here (and other forums), to hear your opinions. We want to hear your feelings about hte images.
I think that your impressions come from a mix of two ingredients: high frecuency features, specially stars, and large scale ones.
Just give is a deeper thought... what do you think about diffuse stars? And what about large gradients in a image?
At least, my (wider) Orion image lacks of large or smooth gradients, and the stars are very narrow, and that generated to you the impresion of grain or oversharpness. Carlos' image, by the other hand, contains very smooth gradients at large scales, without sharp many sharp features (becouse there aren't after all), and his stars are more diffuse than mine.
I don't say that any of our images are "correct", they just do look like as we though the captured data would be more pleasant. We may be wrong, after all...
