Re: [APML] Redo- Sagittarius - M8 to M17

Hi Alan,
Thanks!  As for processing steps, after my initial Histogram balance, I did a Curves, Wavelets, SCNR, and SGBNR.  After each step I check the image in Histograms to make sure I'm not clipping anything.  After I'm finished in PI LE I put the image in PS for a Auto Levels with a Fade adjustment, an Unsharp Mask with Fade adjustment, and a Minimum filter with Fade adjustment.  I think the "softness" comes mainly from SGBNR.  I do not possess a great knowledge of the Wavelets or SGBNR, I just use the tutorials as a guide and really don't deviate too much from the values used in them.  When I get time I'll try a version in PS alone to see what the difference is.

Hey Gary,

This is an improvement. I'd like to ask what processing steps you did
in Pixinsight. Did you do more than a DBE? I have to ask because this
shot has taken on the 'softness' that I always see with images that are
extensively processed in Pixinsight. To this point I have not heard a
reasonable explanation of why this is, but it is.

I can now tell as soon as an image pops up where it was processed. I
wonder if you'd be willing to do a version in PS only as a comparison.

Thanks,
Alan
