Because I cannot give you advice with settings of St-4 when I dont have it and you surely know better than me that its something wrong with it.
And if it aplays increased time to the same direction again its not definitely correct. It should use backslash compensation of course just when directions change.

No. I mean st-4 applies the increased time first, when change the direction.
AND for the next cycle (correction) again, which is taken to the same
direction. In other words, st-4 applies the increased time (immediately)
twice, not only for one time.
After direction changing (long correction), normally, st-4 ought to make
very short (normal) corrections again, I think.
