RE: [APML] Anyone have any 120 Tech Pan for sale?

Thanks Kent. I am aware of this problem, based on monitoring this newsgroup. I was planning to use the film un-hypered for shooting the moon in my C14. Last weekend I took some promising E200 shots of the first quarter moon using my Pentax 6x7 at the Cassegrain focus of the C14. I only wished to have a really nice fine-grain B&W film, rather than color slide film. I figured I'd make a last-ditch effort to score some Tech Pan, a film I've used a lot in the distant past for some amazingly sharp terrestrial photography. This Saturday I plan to shoot the full moon using TMAX, but am hoping that after that I can try some Tech Pan shots. If nobody has any, I'll settle for TMAX, but it's worth a try!

Does anyone have any spare rolls of 120 Tech Pan they'd be willing to part

stock? Thanks a bunch!

Andy:
I don't know what your specific use for the 120 Tech Pan is, but you should be aware that over the last five years or so, 120 Tech Pan that had been hypered exhibited a problem of the type ink on the paper backing imprinting itself on the film. After processing, the letters and words (Kodak, 1,2,3,etc.) on the paper backing were clearly visible in the film. This was especially true if a high vacuum was used for the dessication part of the hypering process.
Kodak supposedly changed the inks used to print the paper backing from solvent to water based inks which was causing the problem.
