[APML] Some processing questions

By now most of you are probably sick of me, but I need help anyway. So
here goes:

1. What is the best procedure for dust and scratch removal? I have one
piece of lint that zig zags back and forth and covers about a square
inch on my screen. Along with the normal pieces of dust, etc... I need
directions on how to use the procedure.

2. Who can suggest an easy to use grain reduction treatment? Please let
it be easy.

3. Any suggestions on how the hell to process M31? I can't get the
color right. And the sky bg looks a lot brighter now that it's
uploaded. In fact all of them have done that. Is there any way to
compensate? You can see it here:

4. What do the paramters in 'unsharp mask' do, or mean? In particular,
I think it's called 'thresholds'? Or 'levels'.
