You should consider picking up a Kodak R-26 Projection Print scale. Here's
a link to one at B&H. This enables you to narrow down your exposure with
just one test print.

There are other ways to do the same thing however... place a sheet of photo
paper in the easel, hold a piece of cardboard over the paper(large enough to
cover the whole sheet of paper), then set the enlarger timer for say 25
sec., while exposing move the cardboard across the print in specific steps
of say 5 sec each. If done five times, you end up with a print that shows a
bracket of 5, 10, 15, 20 & 25 sec an so on........
Obviously the longer the exposure the darker the print.
