[APML] How to clean a smudged negative?
Hey All,
My camera store isn't open yet so I thought I'd see if I can get a
quick reply here before they open at noon Pacific time. I have a
negative that I really want to get scanned because it is a good looking
shot of M33. Actually it it scanned, but the smudges are quite visible.
I hav eto assume that it happened while I was having enlargements mahe
during the last week. I keep my hands washed and take careful steps to
keep my fingers off the important parts of negatives.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to clean it up? It won't brush
away and I have to assume it is a greasy fingerprint, a good sized part
of which is right over the core of M33. The rest is in a corner of the
negative. I have no specialized cleaner here other than a mixture of
water, a little dish soap and alcohol (?) for cleaning corrector plates
and such.
Thanks for any help,
Alan
