RE: [APML] registering images...
I agree. Before using Registar, aligning images took most of my effort. I tried doing this in Photoshop without much success. After I bought Registar, I found myself wondering why I waited so long. Makes it so very easy. I'm glad to say that I take aligning and stacking images very much for granted now.
Everything else I need to do can be done in Photoshop. When I was trying to decide on Registar vs. programs that registered and also did image processing, I had the thought of "why should I pay more for redundant features?" Since I already had Photoshop, that thought clinched it. I'm very happy with the combination (Registar and Photoshop).

Jeff,
You won't go wrong using Registar. It was specifically written to register
astro images and does a phenomenal job. I can't compare it to some of the
other newer programs. My experience was with Picture Window and Photoshop
trying to register two 30 minute shots of the Lagoon a couple years ago
without success. The pictures were on the same roll, the second taken
immediately after the first one, yet the stars would not line up. I got
little crescent star overlaps across the picture. Registar did it
perfectly. Registar aligns each and every star in the picture, up to
thousands of stars. I believe in my case the two pictures were affected by
atmospheric refraction, about 1/2 star diameter stretch between shots.
