Guiding Tolerances was (RE: [APML] IC1805, IC1848, h & chi)

Paul, I found Robert Reeves' website to be a valuable resource for
guiding tolerance information.

http://www.robertreeves.com/class11.htm

With careful alignment and a little attention to detail you can get some
wonderful wide field shots without too much trouble.

BTW, how is crummy is the weather? I am going to be in Manchester most
of next week and will likely do some sight seeing in Chester on
Saturday, but the forecast does not too good.

Hi Andreas

I have just seen your picture of IC1805,1848. Great image. I am about to
start taking pictures my self, I have a Vixen DX mount plus SS2K and I
am
going to use a TeleVue Ranger together with my Vixen GA-4 to guide with.
I
will have to manually guide as I do not have access to an ST4. The
camera is
an Olympus OM1 fitted with ether Olympus 50mm and 135mm or Soligor
250mm. I
am also going to try some shots through the Ranger and I will have to
use
another guide scope probably my old 60mm Prinz refractor or a 50mm
finder
fitted with the GA-4.

Because I am guiding manually, can you or any body else here give me
some
tips about guiding and guiding corrections.

Regards.
