Yes, they are so small that they would appear starlike with the schmidt.  However, you can capture both in the same field with 35mm and my 12.5 inch.

Fantastic shot! I was wondering--have you thought about imaging a pair of globulars that are located in the spout (NGC 6528 and 6522). With the star cloud as a background-that image would be quite interesting.
