RE: [APML] Poster-Size Prints?



Aurora, Illinois is called The City of Lights because, in 1881, the city
contracted with the Aurora Electric Light and Power Company to light the
city streets. Sixteen 2,000-candle-power electric arc “street-lights” were
mounted on 152-foot high towers. Those lamps did a better job of lighting
the sky than the streets below.

After more than 120 years, there is still more light shining into the sky
than onto the ground.

Hence the term    Aurora Municipalis     (glow of light over a city)
