RE: [APML] Astro Imaging mount capacity

It heavily depends on the brand as some manufacturers list
photographic loads, some visual (which can be twice as high
in some cases). With most (all?) lower end mounts you won't
be able to effectively use anywhere near the advertised
load. With most high end mounts you can sometimes exceed
the rated load.

If you state what type of instrument, FL, and how much you
want to spend then you can get a good idea of what the
best choices are and the strengths and weaknesses of
each.

have success taking pictures, your system should not pass 50% of max weight
capacity of the mount. My actual system weights 70% of the max weight
capacity of the mount that I have in mind. Do I really need to be concerned
about this issue. Can anyone comment their experiences. Thanks.
