RE: [APML] Poster-Size Prints?

I, too, echo Jerry's comments. I have some of my 'light pollution exposures' posted under http://home.xnet.com/~klappal/images1.html. The indicated page explains my photo exposure philosophy. Near the bottom of that page is the link to the page of images.

There are no 'here is how it should look' exposures. That would take images with different exposure characteristics, which I can't take digitally at this time, and I'm not going to get into reciprocity adjustments and explanations at this time.

On the other hand, if the weather cooperates this weekend, I may try some straight, piggyback, widefield exposures at ISO 400, f/2, 30 seconds, which is the longest I can do with my digital camera.

   I have to echo Jerry's comments ... and since I am an IDA member I get to spout my 2 cents worth ...

1.   That is not at all how this poster should look ... as Jerry mentioned, you don't see color in the Milky Way naked eye ...

2.   The effects of light pollution are a "white out" ... not a dark background where you can't see anything ... your "light polluted" sky looks like mine when there's high clouds obscuring the majority of the sky ... all you see is a black "nothing" ... a light polluted sky is all lit up ...

     I have done this sort of comparison for my slide shows ... I might even have the files somewhere on a CD ... and as a few people mentioned, I can even do the printing ... if you have some quantity we might even be able to do a one-time "deal" of some sort since it's for a good cause.
