Kevin,

Why not take the same photo from a dark site and from a city location? 
Why the need for a simulation? It may not accurately represent what the 
naked eye sees but it would be a better comparison.

On the cost issue... It always amazing me what people think they should 
pay for prints. $6 a piece? Maybe in quantities of 1000 or 10,000 you 
could get them for that price. This is a prime example of why amateurs 
cannot sell astrophotos. People will pay $1000's for a piece of art but 
think $50 is too expensive for an astrophoto.
