Re: [APML] 17 and 18 september aurora

George , Tony , Stuart and Chris , thanks for your kind words :)

George , I like how they turned too , I used 20 seconds exposure because it was very weak but the picture show more than what I saw.

Tony , like George mentionned , I'd exchange few weeks by year of your skies and temperatures with mines , especially in winter :) your french is excellent :)

Stuart , when I joined my friend Jean to our observation spot on wed night , he saw nothing during the 1½ hour he arrived before me , but the show began at ~ 12:30 am ( local time ) and occured durring 1½ hour. for the cut of my exposure time , I decided that when I saw my picture here http://www.spacew.com/gallery/image001482.html and the few others curtains shoot that night. I saw some aurora pictures from John Russel ( Alaska ) on SW.com and he used 2 to 5 seconds for his pictures and they're not underexposed.

Chris , I received mines too and surely some folks here have received their copies :) Dont deprive , there will have other auroras soon , the season begin :)

Clear skies

Great shots Dom!  I like Zodiacal Light shot from Sept 2nd.  I haven't seen an aurora down here since June 16th.  Keep shooting!
Btw, I receive my copies of Astronomy's "Explore  the Universe '04".  Your aurora shot is very nice indeed!  I also like the shot on the next page.... <g>

Hi all !

I had 2 nigths in a row with aurora this week here in Quebec city ( 47°N-71°W ), 2 nights to chase the aurora it's hard for the body , but excellent for the soul :) you can find my pictures ( 8 images ) here
http://www.spacew.com/gallery/image001714.html

for these images , I decided to cut my exposure time to reduce the blur ;) on my pictures . I passed to 20 seconds to 5 to 15 seconds ... it's realy more esthetic IMO.

Clear skies !
