[APML] [OT] 18" LCD monitor: any good for AP?

Hi list,
I've got the opportunity to grab a very good LCD monitor from HP (model #
L1825):

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11483_na/11483_na.HTML

it's a hell of a good deal (less than $400, including sales tax, shipping
and a 3-year on-site warranty service). I've checked out one of those
thingies myself: it does have very bright colors, an impressively wide
viewing angle (almost 180°!) and in spite of its broad screen it's less
cumbersome than my good old 17" CRT from AOC.
Frankly, were it not for the terrific price, I wouldn't even be considering
switching to a LCD display, and I wouldn't spend any money on a new (and
better) CRT either; I have a hunch, however, that this model is even better
than many good quality CRT monitors. So here come the questions: do you
imaging expert think I'm doing the right thing? Will that LCD display be as
suitable for image viewing and processing as a good ol' CRT?

Any help/opinions will be higly valued.

Thanks in advance and clear skies,
Emmanuele Sordini
