No.  The problem with the 2" adapters and the t-mount is that 
they "stop down" the opening, resulting in vignetting.  The
widemount design attempts to minimize this effect.

Your 2" adapter will work, just if you get some vignetting
on the edges don't blame the optics <g>.

With the 2" visual back I wouldn't make it a priority.
Rotating the camera isn't a hassle like it is with the
thread-to-thread connection that a t-mount or widemount
gives you.

Just be prepared to have to fork out for some jewelry, or
if she is like my wife for a new computer....  You could
also try telling her that the blue lettering, or the black
lens mounting matches her eyes <g>.

Hey!  I know!  Point to the AP ads with the pretty lady working
with a refractor and tell her "See?  No lovely lady is complete
with a nice telescope."
