60mm is fine for a guidescope.  The bigger issue is whether 
the focuser is sturdy enough to not have any movement.

Depending upon which film you are using f/8 is probably 
too "slow".  You'll want the reducer/corrector.  Assuming
that you'll be using a 35mm camera you'll need a wide-
mount adapter.
