RE: [APML] FS102 and my wife,,,grin

Hi John,

I use the 114mm O.D. hinged rings from Parallax Instruments for the FS102
(http://www.parallaxinstruments.com). They hold the tube quite securly.
As far as spacing between the rings, I mount the rings at each end of the
standard Losmandy universal dovetail plate. I would have to go home and
measure the distance though.

I can't say how the 60mm scope will work for guiding. An 80mm F11 works
well without a barlow using an ST-4.

I would say that the most convenient photographic accessory is the Camera
Angle Adjuster. It is expensive, but you can easily rotate the orientation
of the camera without losing focus. Also, the Field Flattener/F6 reducer,
even more expensive, is a nice accessory.

The eyepiece I seem to use most often with this scope is the Televue 19mm
Panoptic. I had a 20mm Nagler, but the thing was so heavy I would have to
re-balance my scope every time I used it (so I opted for the above
instead). The 32 mm Televue Plossl has been great for sweeping the summer
Milkyway, and the 5mm Radian has been nice lately with Mars when the
atmosphere is stable.
