Re: [APML] IC1396 and Sh2-129 with 200mm lens
Good question Jeff,
I haven't gone after this one yet. From the only colour shot I have
seen (CCD), there is a small amount of reflection nebulosity involved, but
it is for the most part emission. It should respond well to H-alpha. Is this
a Caldwell object??? Patrick Moore must be on parabolic steroids if he
thinks that this is observable! It is fainter than the bubble. It is fainter
than Sh2-157, but close. Sh2-157 is in a line with M52 -> bubble -> Sh2-157.
If your images show 157, then you should be able to get the cave. This won't
be an easy shot, but this is the right time of the year to go after it.

Thanks John,
Is there enough of the Cave to shoot with color neg.
film or is it an Ha filter only object. I remember
seeing a b/w photo of it in the Caldwell Objects book
by O'meara and read something about a small portion of
it being photographable in other than Ha or something
to that effect.
Jeff
