Re: [APML] IC1396 and Sh2-129 with 200mm lens
Nice shot Andreas!
That is one of my favourite fields, with all the faint emission nebula
and subtle dark nebula. Very nicely done - it is very easy to "overprocess"
this field. Your image looks great! I have a H-alpha filtered tech pan shot
of this area which makes a wonderful comparison, but it is not on-line at
the moment. I do have a Schmidt shot of Sharpless Sh2-129, if you want to
see this nebula in more detail. (300mm vs. your 200mm)

seeing - as I do - you will find many more interesting fields like this that
are off the beaten track, and well worth shooting.

Subject: [APML] IC1396 and Sh2-129 with 200mm lens
Dear list members,
last week I was really fed up with the bad seeing here so I left my CCD
camera at home and took my old Canon A1 for some wide field shots. Here
is the result:

It is the region around IC1396. I also found another HII region Sh-129
(Sharpless or Shain?) on the frame.
Best regards
Andreas
