[APML] Introduction of a new list member

Hi I am Richard Crisp and just joined the list yesterday.

I am an avid CCD imager but have a lot of interest in film too. I have admired the work of many of you film folks for many years and I was initially attracted to astronomy by looking at the superb astro-photos that many of you have produced. I will not name names because I know I will forget some!

One of the areas that interests me is tricolor work based on hypered 2415. I have a hypering kit but have thus far not shot any film, working instead on CCD based images, primarily because of the ease of use and the ability to do it from comparatively light-polluted suburban skies.

However I do intend to use my hypering kit and have made an adaptor so I can use my filter wheel that accepts 50mm diameter filters on my OM1 camera body.

For scopes I primarily use an AP155EDF and a Celestron C14. I also use a Traveller and and FSQ106 for widefield. For mounts I have an AP1200GTO and AP900GTO. I take my images with either an FLI IMG1024S or SBIG ST10XME camera. For guiding I use an ST7E and an AO7. I recently acquired an RCOS Beam Splitter that makes using an AO7 with other cameras quite easy.

I am a practicing electrical engineer (chip designer) and live in California's Silicon Valley.

My purpose in joining this list is to learn more about film and to pick up tips and hints from you guys, whom I consider the best of the best.

Mostly I expect to lurk but may have some questions from time to time.

I bought my first scope in Nov of 2000 and bought film and ccd camera gear a month later. I have had a lot of hobbies over the years but I can see this one is a "keeper". There is hardly an hour of the day that goes by without thinking of imaging or astronomy; in short I am hooked.

In the area of CCD I have been primarily trying to focus on using narrowband filters, both for the joy of making images that look "different" and for their properties of cutting through the light pollution.
