Hello Juan and List,
Having no discontinued "Philips ToUcam Pro USB 640 x 480" laying around I
went the digi-cam/eyepiece route too. None of the images I obtained at the
exact hour of Mars' closest approach turned out well. I knew better than to
expect decent results on a first outing with anything new and astronomical,
but tried anyway.
I got much better results the second outing 4 days later, but clearly the
now "discontinued" Philips ToUcam Pro Web Cam guys rule for planetary
imaging. They can still be had if you search around the web apparently. My
best efforts and the result are as below:
