Brain-dead firewalls/virii checkers. Seriously. I get anywhere from
a couple to a couple-of-dozen of these things every day. And I'm
running a Linux network (okay, there's also my wife's Mac). I'm
reasonably confident that the systems in question do not have *any*
Microsoft virus on them. But, because someone with my e-mail in their
address book got infected, the messages have my address stuffed in the
header as a "Return-Path", "From", or "Reply-To" address and the
brain-dead checkers don't notice the complete inconsistency between the
"Received" header trail and the supposed author. This is just pure
laziness on the part of the checkers. My spam check software notices
this sort of inconsistency and adds to its probability score when it
sees it.

roland
