RE: [APML] Summer Milkyway - All the way down

Dominic,

I know the lens is razor sharp at f/4, but with only 16 minutes before I move the schmidt to another target, I get what  get.  (two 8 min shots successive with the schmidt)  What I need is a lens that is sharp at f/2.8 for my Ka mount.

Hi Chris !

It's a very nice shot , I like the colors. For me the coma is not disturbing for the view of your picture. I always heard that it was better at f4 , any advantage at f2.8 for long exposure ?

Dont be affraid to aim your schmidt-camera low on the horizon , your sky look very dark :)

keep shooting !

Dom

on Supra of our galaxies central region, that Ive included the horizon in
for reference. As you can see, the sky in Happy Jack is black all the way
down, with very nice transparency except for a slight yellowish tint from
the extinction band at the lowest levels. This shot gives me hope of
captureing some really deep southern stuff with the schmidt. The shot is
