         Yep, had this exact problem.   I upgraded my motherboard about 6 
months ago,a nd witht he motherboard came a free copy of Norton's Firewall, 
which included a firewall, anti-virus, yada, yada, yada.

         I am already running Nortons - virus and Works - so this 
additional program installed itself on top or combined withmy existing 
Nortons.  Problems started instantly.  Things crashed right, left and 
centre.  I eventually had to uninstall the whole mess, and re-install Works 
alone.

         Not sure if this is liek yrou problem, but you may have to 
uninstall the whole thing,a nd do a compelte re-install.  Hope this helps.
