Sorry to hear about your troubles. I've never had that specific problem
with Norton, and in fact have had good luck with their products. It's
not going to help you any now, but I can tell you that McAfee was a
total disaster on my last machine - locked it up tight and I had to
reload the OS. If you have the rest of the Norton "System Works"
package, you might try running the Windows Doctor. I've found that it
discovers and fixes lots things that go wrong with ActiveX stuff, none
of which I claim to understand, but it seems to fix them.
