RE: [APML] tech pan revisited
Hi Scott,
I guess I must be born to be irritating, but I have to ask again... because
what you have doesn't make any sense.
Are you absolutely sure that these lines do not run in the same direction
as the long length of the film? I just can't believe they run
perpendicular to the direction of film travel. They run from sprocket hole
to sprocket hole?
Is this from bulk loaded film? Or from film that has been removed from the
film can, hypered, and then reloaded?
Although I am no expert in TechPan, I have to admit that I thought I had
seen it all and made every mistake possible, and seen every possible muck
up, but if these lines are perpendicular to the direction of film travel,
this is something that I have never seen before.
I have seen lines like this plenty of other times, from dirt in the felt
light trap of the 35mm film cassette, but those scratches run parallel to
the length of the film, not perpendicular.
Please re-post the link to the scans if you would. I looked at them, but
inadvertently deleted the message with the link. I want to look again.
It's a mystery to me, I hope you can find an answer, because I'm curious to
find out.
