Re: [APML] Best US Locations to Image Venus Transit?
Hi Kevin -
There are several sites within the Cape Cod National Seashore and also the
town of Chatham that have totally unobstructed views to the east over the
ocean. Perfect locations IF the weather cooperates.
My plan is to watch the weather that day and night before and be prepared to
drive up into Maine or south if clouds look to be a problem here on the
Cape.

The event will be visible from where I live (central New York state), but I
want to get a better vantage point for this very rare event. The latter part
of the transit will be visible from the eastern U.S. coast. But what
locations will have best odds for weather as well as a clear eastern
horizon? I would imagine any spot with an ocean view would have a clear
horizon. Another factor would be the ability to set up during the night
without concerns of harassment or distraction.

suggestions for the best spots to image? What about somewhere on Cape Cod?
(Chris Cook, do you have suggestions?) Or, how about the top of Cadillac
Mountain, Maine?
