[APML] Websites- OT

Hey guys,
              Does anyone have any suggestions on how to increase web
traffic to a website? I've joined webrings, gotten links from a couple of
astro vendors and fellow amateurs, and filled out metatags. Apparently
though, the biggie engines like Google and Yahoo don't use tags. I've seen
Yahoo ask for $299 for a good listing within a week or so, and have been
contacted by a company which claimed to perform a service to increase
presence on the web. Are any of these legitimate? I do come up by name and
the name of the site, but not by "Astrophotography" and related queries.
