Yes! At least, this is what I found to be the case
for Olympus and Pentax cameras.

You don't need the inner piece. You can buy a standard
T-ring from a camera shop, take out the inner piece
that is held in place with three set screws, throw
the middle part away and mount the outer part to the
OAG body, using the same three set screws to tighten
it. This is *exactly* what I did to change from Canon
to Pentax. Examination of the Olympus unit shows it
is done the same way (although in its case I bought
it with the Olympus ring already mounted).
