Re: [APML] Fireball last night?

Hi Alen,

I was up in Huntsville Ontario after Starfest week vacationing and showing some campers
views through my scope and around 12:30 am this group saw it as well...it lit up the entire area
with a soft bluish light ( like an LED flashlight) and was very bright, bluish green color with a
strong flare up, was slow moving and fragmented into 4 -6 pieces about 10-15 degrees above
the southern horizon....but the most interesting aspect of this night was that 4 people from this
same group including myself saw another fireball earlier in the evening about 30 minutes after
sunset in a still fairly bright sky but this time the fireball moved from zenith towards the east.
It also fragmented low in the eastern sky after a 3 - 4 second duration after reaching a possible
mag of -6 to -7. I commented that this would have looked much more spectacular in a dark
sky and sure enough the midnight streaker confirmed my statement...possibly a -8 to -10 and
to no one more surprised than me at 2 sporadic events like this in one evening.

Best regards, Brian Lula
