Yes, absolutely a product like this could be helpful for un-hypered film.
It's not going to be doing any hypering, despite the name, but keeping the
film in an inert, low-moisture environment will certainly help in humid
ambient conditions if for no other reason than it will prevent the emulsion
from absorbing moisture and swelling and causing the film to "creep" during
the exposure.
